Don Jessop
Where are you in your story? At the beginning, where everything is messy but a little exciting? In the middle, where things feel like they’re taking way too long—sometimes boring, sometimes frustrating? Or are you over the hump, past the hardest parts, finally enjoying the rewards of your effort?
I ask because if you can recognize where you are in your story, you can take a breath and just be there. We push so hard to be finished, to accomplish, to measure progress, to make sure we're heading in the right direction. It’s our natural impulse. Ironically, it’s the exact opposite of what we want from our horses. We ask them to tune in, to stay present, to let go of the future long enough to navigate the now successfully—and, ultimately, to relax.
So, where are you? And when, if not now, would be the perfect time to embrace your path without impatience or anxiety?
We’re in this together, my friends. Let’s celebrate where we are, where we came from—every beginning, every middle, every ending. It’s all part of a beautiful trail ride. A life ride.
Sincerely, Don Jessop
