Use big words
Want a deeper relationship with your horse? You need to get a bigger vocabulary.
Shakespeare invented over 1700 words for our language, adding levity and intimacy, and depth to our otherwise common English.
Better vocabulary improves our relationships because all relationships are based communication and sharing ideas.
It is about understanding the meaning of cues and sign als for rest, play, and work.
A deep relationship has multiple levels of communication and meaning. A shallow relationship has fewer.
Think about meeting someone new and talking about the weather. Is that all you’ve got? Deeper, richer relationships mean more topics and more vulnerability.
It is the same for horses. The more things you can talk about with your horse outside of walk, trot, and canter, (mundane weather talk) the richer your relationship will be. It may be time to expand your goals, try new things, an add to your routines.
In our Mastery program, we dive deep into six categories of conversation. Foundation ground, liberty, and driving, plus foundation riding, bridleless, and collected riding. These six topics are just the tip of the iceberg. Beneath that, we find pathways to success in jumping, reining, dressage, performing arts, and more. Inside those, we go even deeper into feel, confidence, preparation, and rewards. Laced throughout is the common thread of transitions and speed.
Each category has easy to learn steps to grow and deepen your knowledge, and your language with your horse.
My goal is to suggest, if you want a deeper relationship, you have to go beyond bonding. You want to develop a language with lots of words. A large language creates deeper connections, better than grunts and gestures. Better than kicking, pulling, to walk, trot, canter.
I want you to have a deeper relationship. I can help you achieve that. Start here and make it personal. Let's make our own relationship together and help you succeed with your horse.
